Hi! My name is Julia, and my favorite part of the emerge360 program has definitely been merchandising. What I love most is picking out a new dress for the mannequin—it’s like giving it a whole new personality! The most challenging part? Choosing the perfect necklace to match. It takes time to find one that really brings the whole look together.
Before picking out a dress, the first thing I do is decide on the color scheme and the type of event I want to set the mannequin up for. That way, when people walk by, they can tell what the dresses are meant for—whether it’s prom, a fancy dinner, or just a fun night out.
I also really enjoy the process of gently putting away the old dress once the new one is ready to go. It feels like I’m wrapping up one story and starting another.
Once everything is in place, we move the mannequin to the front window display. The best part is stepping outside and seeing how beautiful it looks from the street. It’s such a great feeling to know I helped create that!
